I want to fix my credit. I notice that me doing it on my own is a littler harder than expected. Anybody knows any good company that deals with fixing credit they can recommend or any other good suggestion? Please help

Ive recently pulled my credit report, which isnt all that great, but I have one company on there twice for the same thing…..is a company able to report you twice for the samething? Also I talked to a friend and she told be that no matter what a credtor will stay on your report for 7 years, but Ive heard if you paid them off then you can request that they are removed from your credit report…do you know which is true? I really want to try and fix my credit Im only 22 and its not the best but I want to do what I can now so when I want to buy a house I dont have little things stopping me. Any suggestion on how to go about that?
You can pay the company you owe but that doesnt take it off your credit report
Also I dont want to go to a agency that “fixes” your credit because Ive heard that they are pretty much scams and dont work
