I have a very low credit score with old delinquent accounts. I have heard paying off old accounts is pointless, and will not improve your score. Is there any way to fix credit on your own with out the use of a lawyer etc.

I have really really really bad credit…. collections on top of collections due to school loans that have been charged off. Are there any agencies that can help fix my credit? I can’t even get an apartment now.

I am getting married in a little over a year. My Guy’s crdit is sparkling I don’t want to pull him down. I have tried a few debt cosolidation places but all of my bad credit is from 2-5 years ago. They want info I can’t obtain. I just tried with 1 major company and they told me I didnt get the right info and refunded me my start up costs. Saving is not working but now if I have a bill, I pay it. But I can’t save this much in this amount of time. If the purpose of my loan is to fix my credit why does everybody want to give me a loan based on that??? Please help.

I’ve heard bad stuff goes off your credit report after 7 years, so can you wait it out and have decent credit again after 7 years? Anyone know how that works or what to do to fix it?

I have had troubles in the past. I opened my first credit card and went crazy, had about a $600 bill that I never paid, and I now have bad credit. Im only 20 years old, and I have tried to apply for 2 credit cards and got denied on both. Are there any other ways besides credit cards that will help my credit? I hear that paying a cell phone bill on time will help? True? What other things can I do to help my credit?

I owe about 18K from a repo and 3K in credit card bills. I had to leave the US to go back to the Philippines due to a family emergency. I did not work there and stayed there for 2 1/2 years so I was not able to make any payments. Now Im back in the US & currently have a part time job. I really want to fix my credit.
