I had an apt. in Laredo and when we moved my so-called friend said she would take over payments since we just signed a year lease but when we moved i never heard from her, and now it is on my credit. luckily we got and apt. before it was on my credit but i dont plan on living here for the rest of my life. Is there anything i can do to fix this, or if i pay the 2000 dollars i owe will that even do anything tell help my credit out. any kind of input would be greatly appreciated.
Pay off the outstanding debt and pay all of your existing bills early, not on time. Also, if you have a credit card balance try to pay it down as maxed cards count against you.

Your credit will improve if you pay all your back debts and pay all your bills on or before they are due.

Go to and dispute it. If the dispute does not work, ask them to send you proof by “validating the debt.” If they do not validate or respond, by law, they are supposed to remove it.

What alot of people don’t know is that you can actually settle the debt with whomever you owe. Meaning call them and tell them the situation and tell them you want to settle the debt. Sometimes they drop the debt by as much as 40%. My sister owed 1200 on a credit card she called and settled and they charged her $400 to resolve the debt. Try It!

If you do decide to pay the amount owed try to negotiate with the creditor to have the item removed from you account. This would be better than having the item simply shown as paid. GOOD LUCK
